Husband of Katie Seeger Allen, d/o Charles L. Allen and Elizabeth Smith of KY. They married Nov. 9, 1899 in KY and her father and his 2nd wife Addie were witnesses.

William was a druggist and owner of 5 drug stores in 5 states: IA, OH, KY, IN and TX.
No children.

William married a second time to L. Norah Thornbury, a widow with 2 children, John Kirby Thornbury, Jr. and Ellen Roberta Thornbury. In the 1930 U.S. Census L. Norah was age 52, John 14, Ellen 11.
Nannie E. Dixon age 73 was living with them. I believe she was L. Norah's mother.

My family has a large photo of William Bernard Hopkins standing in front of his drug store in Louisville, KY. There are several other people also in the photo and we think Katie Hopkins as well as L. Norah and her children are part of the group.

Note:
Many thanks to genealogist Jacqi Stevens of Stockton, CA for the 1905 photo of William & Katie Hopkins of Louisville, KY which she rescued from an antique store in Lodi, CA. She researched the names on the back of the photo and tracked me down through my postings on Ancestry.com and then mailed the photo to me in Edina, MN. Read all about it on her blog, A Family Tapestry.
