Garland Daugherty, 44, a resident of Hobart, Indiana, for the past 13 years, formerly of this city, died Friday morning at Mercy Hospital, Gary. He was employed at the U. S. Steel Company and was a Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Norma; four sons, Garland Don, East Gary; Charles, Douglas, and Rodney, all at home; two daughters, Sue Ann and Penny, both at home; two brothers, John Daugherty, of Sullivan, and Ivan Daugherty, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and one grandson.
The body was returned to the McClanahan Funeral Home where services were held Monday afternoon at 3:00 with Rev. Larry L. Patton officiating. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery.
