Herb Rigg passed away peacefully on Dec. 17, 2016 in San Jose, CA. Born in Galesburg IL on March 27, 1936 to Garl & Ethel Rigg.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathy of 25 yrs, his son Randy Quails of San Jose, brother Larry Rigg of Galesburg IL, sister Margie Elliot, aunt Sadie Lamb and his 3 cats Digit, Dusty and Miss Lola.
He proudly served his country in the US Army for 6 years, the in the Marine Corps for 30 years and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a lifetime member of his Local VFW post 3982. He was a machinist by trade and retiring from United Airlines in 2002. Before his passing he spent his time protecting children as a crossing Guard under the S.J.P.D Safety Unit.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate if you made donations in Herb's honor to Saint Judes Children Research Hospital 501 St Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105 or VFW Post 3982 2191 El Camino Real Santa Clara, CA 95050.
Services for Herb will be held Mon. Dec. 26th with a visitation 5 pm to 8 pm; service starting at 6:30 pm at Darling Fischer Garden Chapel 471 E. Santa Clara St. San Jose, CA 95112. Also a Committal Service Tue. Dec. 27th at 10 am at Calvary Catholic Cemetery 2650 Madden Ave, San Jose, CA 95116.
