BARTLEY, Neb. -- Caroline Lawson, age 70, of Bartley, passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Dec. 19, 2016.

She was born in Benkelman, Neb., on Aug. 1, 1946, to August and Mary Ellen (Buck) Klinzmann. The family moved to Kansas, where Caroline graduated from Goodland High School in 1964. She attended McCook Community college for two years, studying business and bookkeeping.

Caroline worked for Cornbelt Chemical for 15 years before taking a job as bookkeeper for Doak Construction for the last 11 years.

Caroline enjoyed collecting keyrings, pens, crocheting, and computers, especially Facebook. She could keep track and close tabs on her daughters Denys and Carrie, but especially the grandchildren. Caroline adored and loved her family.

Caroline is preceded in death by her parents; infants, Billi Jean and Frank; two brothers, Vance and Verlyn Davis; two sisters, Vonda Doak and Minnie Klinzmann; and life partner for 25 years, Frank Michener.

Caroline is survived by her two daughters, Carrie Lawson of Indianola and Denys Stevens of Kearney; two grandsons, Mikah Sorrells and Riley Jones; granddaughter, Savanah Stevens; sister, Ruth Kidwell of Hastings, Neb.; and brother, Vernon Davis of Ellsworth, Kan.

In lieu of flower,s memorials may be left in Caroline's name to either the Bartley Rescue Squad or the McCook Humane Society. Friends may leave on line condolences at lockenour.com.

Memorial services will be at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. with Jim Jones officiating. Inurnment will be held at a future date in the Bartley Cemetery.
