Ernestine Marie Atkins of Bokoshe, Oklahoma was born on April 18, 1933 to Ulmer and Evelyn (Alford) Miller in Bokoshe, Oklahoma and passed away on December 21, 2016 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 83 years
Ernestine is survived by one daughter, Kathyrn Ann Atkins of Bokoshe, Oklahoma; two sons, Leamon Lynn Atkins of Bokoshe, Oklahoma and Kevin Lee Atkins and wife Kim of Bokoshe, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren, Rhonda Chapple, Janet Chapple-Fitzgerald and husband Jim, Anthony Atkins, Justin Atkins, Derik Atkins , Jarrod Mitchell, Caitlyn Lee, Greg Ennis, Vera Langdell and Paul Adams; nine great grandchildren, Jessica Mabe, Meagan Fitzgerald, Sydney Fitzgerald, Hayden and Jackson Atkins, Vandalyn Ennis, Dalton Langdell, Christen Langdell and Aly Adams; one great great granddaughter, Cheyanne Medlin; one sister – in- law, Shirley Miller; two brothers, Herschel Miller and wife Betty of Bokoshe, Oklahoma and Milton Miller and wife Ann of Bokoshe, Oklahoma and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Leon Atkins; one grandson, Darryl Langdell; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Clark Atkins; three sisters, Pat, Barbara and Linda; three brothers, Eugene, James and Larry. Ernestine was a strong woman who loved her family and children. She loved spending time with her friends and family, and she was always willing to do for everybody.
Funeral services will be held December 28, 2016 at the Old Bokoshe Church in Bokoshe, Oklahoma with Reverend Ronald Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Old Bokoshe Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Mallory Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
Pallbearers will be, Justin Atkins, Derik Atkins, Jarrod Mitchell, Tony Atkins, Dalton Langdell, Jim Fitzgerald, Greg Ennis and Jeremy Kingsbough. Honorary pallbearers will be, her nephews.
