Oleda Jewell Bittle, age 82, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. Born in Fairbanks, Arkansas, on April 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Luster and Lula (Edwards) Kennedy. Mrs. Bittle was a longtime resident of Cleburne County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and grandchildren. Her hobbies included reading and gardening. Mrs. Bittle was a member of Pines Baptist Church at Pearson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse D. Bittle, who died November 5, 1988. Mrs. Bittle was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Forace Kennedy, Athel Kennedy, and Elmus Pennington. She is survived by one son, Doug Bittle, and his wife, Tamie, of Quitman; two daughters, Jaunita Love and her husband, Pat, of Quitman and Debbie Hipp and her husband, Eddy, of Prim; four brothers, Edward Kennedy and his wife, Nelda, and Eldon Kennedy, all of Quitman, Junior Kennedy and his wife, Barbara, of Jacksonville, and Dois Kennedy and his wife, Barbara, of Ft. Smith; one sister, Jaunita Kincaid of North Little Rock; five grandchildren, Curtis Bittle, Cheyenne Bittle, Kelli Harris and her husband, Pete, Laura Brown and her husband, Mike, and Michael Love, and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bittle is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 28, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, at 3:00 P.M. in the Olmstead Chapel with Rev. Terry Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pearson Cemetery. Curtis Bittle, Mike Brown, Pete Harris, Eddy Hipp, Michael Love, and Pat Love will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Diabetes Association, or Gideons International. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
