SPRINGFIELD – Loren A. Winch, age 76, of Springfield died at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 26, 1931, in Springfield, the son of Anthony and Martha Stambaugh Winch. He married Aurelia Rita Henning. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John Edward Winch on Aug. 12, 2003.

Mr. Winch, a lifelong resident of Springfield, worked for Pillsbury Mills, Fehring Ironwork and Boilermakers No. 363.

He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Boilermakers Union Local 363 and the Prop Club. He was U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War and a precinct committeeman for District 11.

Surviving are his wife, Aurelia Rita Winch of Springfield; a daughter, Christine Winch Eden of Springfield; a son, Loren Randy (wife, Joyce) Winch of Springfield; three grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Winch Edwards, Michael Loren and Katlyn Ann Eden; two great-grandchildren, Samantha Lynn and Kenzie Lauren Winch; two brothers, Dr. George (wife, Esther) Winch of Elko, Nev., and Walter (wife, Sue) Winch of Achille, Okla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Remains were cremated. No services will be held.
