Born Sept. 16, 1902, in Elmwood, he was a son of Dr. Charles P. and Carrie Higgins Burt. He first married Vera Safford in 1932. She preceded him in death as did one sister.
He married Hazel Myers in 1974 and she survives, along with one son, Charles E. Burt; one daughter, Mrs. John (Sue Ann) Eichelberger; and one brother, Hugh of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
