Edna A. "Blondie" Ates
Edna A. "Blondie" Ates, age 75 of Pensacola, died October 3, 2005 in a local hospital.
Edna was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford R. Ates; a daughter, Gloria Lockett; and a sister, Opal Brown.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Jerry) Williams of Milton, Glenda (Roy) Strickland of Jay, Robert Ates and Connie Boyle, both of Pensacola; her sister-in-law, Lillie Rowell of Berrydale; her grandchildren, Michael (Jane) Williams, April (Douglas) Hawthorne, Phillip (Dawn) Enfinger, Christy Lockett, Stacie (Ryan McKinley) and Angela Ates; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Jay Funeral Home with Bro. Clifford Dixon and Bro. Don Gaethaney officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Steven Meers, Aaron Motley, Daryl Conn, Jeremy Nolan, Tim Conn and W. L. Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Enfinger and Randall Lockett.
Jay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
