After being bedfast sixteen weeks, John Rysavy, sr., passed away at 5:00 pm Friday, April 17 at his home in Ord and funeral rites were held at 9:00 am Monday, April 21 at the Ord Catholic church. He had suffered with cancer for a long time but pneumonia was the immediate cause of death.
Mr. Rysavy was born May 16, 1874 in Caslava, Bohemia and came to the United States with his parents. On Febr. 26, 1895 he was married at Chadron to Miss Frances Bumba and five children were born to them, all of whom survive. His occupation was farming and he lived near Burwell for many years, coming to Ord in 1934.
Left to mourn are the widow and five children, Joe R. and Mrs. Libbie Merril, of Ord; John R., of Burwell, Bessie and Frank at home.
