Obituary
Clayton Marvel Magnuson was born on June 10, 1949 along with his twin brother, Curtis, at St. Lukes Hospital in Alexandria, Minnesota. His parents were the late Earl Donald and Selma Victoria (Klimp) Magnuson. They resided in Parkers Prairie and moved to a farm in rural Henning. Clayton attended Grace Lutheran Church and graduated from the Henning High School with the class of 1968. After graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army and completed basic training at Fort Louis in Washington in November of 1968. On January 24, 1969, he completed a cooking course at Fort Lee, Virginia. Clayton operated mess halls and was personal chef to Brigadier General Bennett at Fort Shafter in Honolulu, Hawaii. He served many presidents as well. Clayton also trained in Australia and served tours in Korea, Fort Ord California, Texas and Colorado.

Clayton married Shirley Han on May 1, 1973 in Kauai. They had one son and Clayton became a stepfather. After Clayton retired from the army he returned to Minnesota and spent the rest of his life in Clitheral, Minnesota near Stuart Lake. He was employed at the Metz Bakery in Fergus Falls, Mid-America Cheese in Fergus Falls, and Land O Lakes in Perham.

Clayton enjoyed summer and winter fishing and duck hunting. His favorite pass time was relaxing on his deck with his dog Kirby.

On July 7, 2016 Clayton passed away at the Golden Living Center in Henning, Minnesota at 67 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Preceding Clayton in death were his parents; and brothers, Curtis and Clifford.

Clayton is survived by his daughter, J. (P.); sons: Steve, Richard and Alex; grandchildren: M.; Ariel, Alisha and Chase; brothers: Craig of Battle Lake; and Charles (Karen) of Chaska; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
