GLEN ROCK — Clyde V. "Bill" Diehl, 71, of Glen Rock RD 1, died Monday at York Hospital.
He was the husband of Pauline E. Royston Diehl.
Mr. Diehl was born in Shrewsbury Township, near New Freedom, and was a son of the late George and Sarah Sechrist Diehl.
He was employed 30 years as a foreman for Chas G. Summers Jr. Inc., canning company, New Freedom, and the former Hungerford Packing Co. Mr. Diehl was also manager of Yorktowne Kitchens factory outlet and was a member of St. John's (Sadler's) Lutheran Church and Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Co.
Survivors include:
A son — Larry D. Diehl, Glen Rock RD 1.
A daughter — Darlene S. Tanner, York.
Three grandchildren.
A brother — Palmer Diehl, Shrewsbury.
Two sisters — Pauline Attig, New Oxford, and Effie Brenneman, Dallastown.
The Rev. M. Edward Andrews Jr., his pastor, will officiate at funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Second at Franklin streets, New Freedom. Burial will be in St. John (Sadler's) Cemetery, Stewartstown RD 2.
