He was born in Union County, Sept. 27, 1891 to Adam John and Elizabeth (Bartholomai) Blumenschein.
He was married to the former Katherine McKitrick, who preceded him in death.
A retired employee of O. M. Scotts, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. August Vollrath of Marysville and several nieces and nephews.
