James Edwin Eddy, Sr., age 74, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away at his home on Monday, March 21, 2005. Born in Stamps, Arkansas, on July 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Hulen and Cecil Irene (Clemmens) Eddy. Mr. Eddy was retired from manufacturing underground cables for Western Electric and AT&T in Baltimore, Maryland, where he lived for thirty years. A former resident of Quitman, Arkansas, Mr. Eddy had lived in Jackson, Tennessee, for five months. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the United States Navy for four years. Mr. Eddy was a Mason, a member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Quitman. He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffery, and an infant daughter. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Esther (Sentz) Eddy of Jackson, Tennessee; two sons, James Edwin Eddy, Jr. of Arkadelphia and Mark Dwayne Eddy of Arlington, Texas; one daughter, Dolly Elizabeth Long of Fairfield Bay; two brothers, Cecil Eddy of Owosso, Michigan, and Mike Eddy of Arkansas; three sisters, Martha Kennedy of Hot Springs, Doris Jones of Thornton, and Kathryn Eddy of Fordyce; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Eddy is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 22, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 23, at 11:00 A.M. in the Olmstead Chapel with Rev. Jackie Wilson and Rev. Susan Miles officiating. Interment will follow in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
