Olive I. Purdy, formerly of St Johnsbury, died Friday at the Union House Nursing Home in Glover. She was 97 years old.
Mrs. Purdy was born March 24, 1893, in Derby, the daughter of James and Inez Merrill Brown. She is the widow of Walter Purdy and is survived by a daughter, Maureen Bumps, of East Haven; five grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. Services were conducted at the Woods-Trefren and Pearsons Funeral Home on Monday, with the Reverend James C. Daniels officiating.
Burial was in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport. Those who wish may send contributions in Mrs. Purdy's memory to the Lifeline program at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, in care of John Sleeper, Hospital Drive, St Johnsbury, Vt
