He was born the son of James W and Violet C Cullens Allison in Bernie, Missouri. He met Joyce Whitehead at the movie and they were married in January 8, 1944. He had enlisted in the Armed Forces and came home after the war was over. He and his wife share-cropped before coming to Michigan where they had 4 children. Both Bob and Joyce worked at the Flint Board of Education and retired from there. Bob and she were members of the North End Baptist church in Mt Morris. They were among the first members who started the church located first in Flint. He and his wife loved this church and served faithfully for over 50 years, Bob and a Deacon, they both taught, and did "anything that needed doing"
Bob and Joyce always enjoyed camping and fishing with friends.
Tragedy hit the family the year Bob died with the death of two other members of the family. Their daughter Betty passed away in February, and a grandson Benny Lee passed in March.
Left to cherish his memory: wife Joyce, Bobby D. and wife, Ann Allison, Betty and husband Terri Oliver, Dione Kay and husband Benny Howard and Donna Fay and husband Stan Centilli. Brother J W., Evan, Billy, sisters Pearl Shelton, Opal Kinkade, Betty Reed & Jewel Pointer. He was preceded in death by 2 grandsons Benny Lee and Rusty Lee Howard.
