Ressie Belle, daughter of Oscar Burton and Flora Belle (VanHorn) Creal was born Nov.14,1896, in Decatur, IA, and died Jan. 3, 1989, in Lincoln, NE, age 92 years, 1 month and 19 days.
She attended the Decatur schools and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, IA. She taught school in and around Decatur until her marriage.
On Feb. 26, 1917, she married Frank E. Young. They were parents of two sons, Earl Creal and James Burton. Ressie and Frank worked together in the Creal and Young Hardware store in Decatur until World War II. They lived in Burlington, IA, before moving to California. After her husbands death in 1974, she made her home with son, Earl, in Dallas, TX. She spent the last 1-1/2 years in Lincoln.
She became a member of the United Methodist Church at a young age.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, George Creal; and sister, Ida Akers, who were residents of Decatur. Survivors include her two sons: Earl and wife, Gladys, Lindale,TX; and Burton and wife Lois, Lincoln, NE; three grandchildren; five great grand children; five great, great grandchildren other relatives and friends.
