Alice was born in Owensville, Missouri and spent the majority of her formidable years traveling west with stops in Kansas, Colorado, Idaho, and finally Silverdale, Washington. In Silverdale, she graduated from Central Kitsap High School and began a career as a teller for Seattle First National Bank. She married Robert Mickelberry January 25, 1965 in Metarie, Louisiana and became a homemaker to her husband and sons.
Alice was an avid landscape and wildlife artist, concentrating on the mountains of her native Washington State and the countryside of her adopted Louisiana.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Mickelberry of Oakland, TN; her sons Robert H. Mickelberry of Eads, TN and Daniel D. Mickelberry and his wife, C.J. Riggins of Lafayette, CO; brother Richard Balter of Paulsbo, WA; and grandchildren, Spencer Ethan and Elliott Grace of Lafayette, CO.
A memorial service will be held at a future date in her native Washington State.
