Patsy Ann Ausenbaugh Jones, 82, of Madisonville died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Baptist Health Madisonville, due to complications after an extended illness.

The Dawson Springs native was a daughter of the late A.Chester Ausenbaugh and Carna Mae Franklin Ausenbaugh.

She was a graduate of Dawson Springs High and attended Murray State University. She retired from the U.S. Social Security Administration and later worked with the food stamp program at the Kentucky CHFS office in Madisonville. Patsy was an active member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville and had played the piano and organ and taught Sunday school there.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Wylie Edward Jones and step-son David E. Jones.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael W. Young and Elizabeth Ann (Slaton) Young of Dawson Springs; a daughter, Lori Ann (Young) Gordon of Bowling Green; five grandchildren, Zora Simone Gordon, Aimee Jones, Aaron Peacock; Michael Young and Shelly Young; a brother and sister-in-law, James Driscoll Ausenbaugh and Faye Ausenbaugh of Scottsville; a sister, Janet Carolyn (Ausenbaugh) Swilley of Dalton, Georgia; two nephews that were like grandchildren Marcus C. Swilley and W. Scott Swilley and several other nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the service time Saturday at the funeral home. Patsy chose cremation, and private burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Princeton.
