McCOOK, Neb. -- Vivian Jeane Riley age 78 of McCook, passed away Jan. 4, 2017, at the Tri-Valley Health System in Cambridge.
She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on June 14, 1938, to Melvina and Goldie (Koogler) Ernst. She attended school in Dayton before marrying Charles Riley in McCook on Oct. 29, 1956.
Charles was in the U.S. Navy and the couple moved from state to state until they retired in McCook in 1976. Vivian loved to sew, crocheted, garden and camping. She also volunteered for many activities, but her favorite was Meals on Wheels. Vivian loved her pet dogs, they were her companions around the house.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Tonya Salyer.
She is survived by her husband, Charles of McCook; daughter, Bonnie Zlomke of McCook; two sons, Bobbie and wife, Jeri Riley of Orlando, Fla., and Christopher and wife, Jan Riley of Indianola, Neb.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vera Hudspeth of St. Cloud, Fla., Donna Flory of Lawrence, Kan., and Yvonne Allen of Sorrento, Fla.;. along with many nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, with Pastor Barry Johnson officiating. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
Visitation is today until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
