Horace Franklin Lorance, 83, of Galien, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.

Visitation for Horace will be held from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Swem Chapel and Cremation Services, Buchanan. Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 also at the funeral home with Pastor Cliff Radtke officiating. Burial will follow at Galien Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Galien United Methodist Church or Hospice at Home, Inc. Buchanan. Online condolences may be made at www.swemchapel.com.

Horace was born on April 25, 1933 in Manchester, TN. He was a United States Army Veteran. On May 4, 1962 he married Patricia Doughten at Marcellus Methodist Church. He worked for Clark Equipment and Bendix before retiring from Gast Manufacturing in Benton Harbor. Horace was an avid gardener, enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandsons ball games.

Horace is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; sons, Chuck (Jerry Mast) Lorance of Galien and Ray (Mary Jane) Lorance of Niles; grandsons, Ty and Camden Lorance; sisters, Edith Gammon and Sue (Donald) Rydner and brothers, Gene Lorance and Jimmy (Hope) Lorance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lillian Lorance; biological mother, Amanda Lorance; sisters, Esther, Belle, Grace and Judy and brothers, Winford and Sterling.
