"Mrs. Charles Brady, widow of a former well known owner of Hotel Augustan, died Sunday, June 12, at the home of a cousin, Mrs. Clara Haupe, in Lexington, Va. Mrs. Brady was staying there for a visit before coming north to visit friends and relatives in Cobleskill and vicinity. Mrs. Jane L. Brady was born in Decatur on September 10, 1859 and was the daughter of Christopher Mickel and Martha Thompson Mickel. She and her husband, the late Charles Brady, owned and operated the Hotel Augustan here for more than 20 years retiring in 1922. Until Mr. Brady's death on October 11, 1934 they had been spending their summers here and the winter months in Florida. Mrs. Brady was a member of Zion Lutheran church aned active in its affairs when residing here. She was a charter member of the New Century club. Mrs. Brady is survived by two cousins, Mrs. C. D. Haupe of Lexington, Va. and Mrs. V. D. Young of Sharon Hill. There are also surviving two sisters-in-law, Mrs. A. J. Spaulding and Mrs. Theodore Van Voris and brother-in-law, Christopher Brady, all of Gloversville, two nieces and a nephew of her husband, Mrs. C. L. Ryder and Mrs. John Devanny of Cobleskill and Richard Cashman of Boston, Mass. Services were held at the Bundy funeral home at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon with Dr. Frank Wolford of Hartwick Seminary officiating. The bearers were Maynard Van Deusen, Dr. John J. Beard, James Tinkelpaugh, B. H. Lambert and A. B. Ryder of Cobleskill and William Turk of Sidney. Interment was in the Cobleskill Rural cemetery."
