Born in Gloversville, NY on June 4, 1932, he was the son of the late Edward C. Archinal Sr; and Helen Van Nostrand.
Ed received his education in the Mayfield Central School system and graduated from Mayfield High School.
Ed was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1954 to 1956.
Ed worked at General Electric in Schenectady NY as a Turbine Specialist for 40 years until his retirement.
Ed was a parishioner and communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Amsterdam. He was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club. For many years Ed competed in and played softball and volleyball in Amsterdam Recreation Leagues, winning numerous championships. He was also an avid genealogist and enjoyed researching his family history. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Jack. Ed enjoyed camping and boating and vacations with his family and friends. Ed was also a devoted husband to Barbara and visited the nursing home three times a day for over nine years.
Ed was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Jean Archinal on September 17, 2016. He is survived by one son, Charles E. Archinal DDS (Jacky) of Amsterdam, two daughters, Dr. Wendy Archinal of Amsterdam and Mary Lynn Rouse (Barry) of Amsterdam, seven grandchildren, Jessica Archinal (fiancé Michael Deamer) Paige Maile (Luke), Bayley Archinal, Hillary, Tyler, Monica and Andrew Rouse and one sister, Dona Haydon (John) of Mayfield, NY. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Interment will be private at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
