Jimmie C. Duke

Duke, Jimmie C. 83, passed away on December 13, 2016. He was born in Beulah FL and raised in Pensacola where he married the love of his life, Johnnie Faye Mayo in 1951. He served his country for 8 years in the United States Air Force. During his service he was in Japan, Korea, and Hawaii. Upon his discharge in 1962 he worked 25 years for Honeywell International in Pinellas County. During their lives together, Jimmie & Johnnie Faye raised two daughters and enjoyed many adventures in various modes of travel. These included touring 49 of the United Sates in their motor home (allowing him to visit all 50 states in the USA), a month-long, self-guided tour of Western Europe, Egypt to see the Great Pyramids, Russia & Eastern Europe during the cold war, and 4 months aboard a freighter circumnavigating the world. Jimmie is preceded in death by Johnnie Faye and survived by his daughter Shirley and her family Steve, Stephanie, Jeffrey (Tabitha), Georgia, Connor & Taylor and his daughter Linda and her family Richard, Anthony (Rochelle). Please join Jimmie's family for a picnic lunch celebrating his life on January 14th from 11:00-3:00 at one of Jimmie's favorite places, Ft De Soto Park at shelter #2, in Pinellas County. In keeping with Jimmie's request of no flowers, memorial donations may be sent to either The Alzheimer's Association or The Salvation Army.
