He was a member of Lorain Baptist Church in Lorain. Steve enjoyed bowling, woodworking, and making puzzles out of wood.
Survivors include his sons, Joe, Craig, and Chris Casteel; daughter, Loretta McNally; 10 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lela (nee Hornaday); his parents, Bert and Maggie Casteel; and his son, Tony Casteel.
The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Rd., Elyria on Tuesday, August 30 from 9 to 11 a.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
