Wilda Ruth Chase, 91, a resident of Russellville, died Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Conway Regional Medical Center.

She was born January 14, 1925, in Eastland, Texas to Clifford Ferdinand and Nova Ada Hastings Fehl.

She attended Abilene Christian College and was long time member of West Side Church of Christ. She served as a Bible class teacher for 2 and 3 year old’s for more than 50 years. Her heart was to teach and nurture children in the Word of God. She also served the senior adults at West Side, making sure they had everything they needed at home and had rides to church and other functions. She enjoyed all of her work in the ministry at her church, taking care of her cat, Squeaker, and making things for the children’s ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Wanda West.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Ruth and Larry McElroy of Dardanelle; a son, Phil Chase of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Cathy Chase Brownfield and her husband, Cory, of Nixa, Missouri, Joseph Jackson McElroy and his wife, Cristina, of Freeport, Texas and Phillip Drake Chase of Hot Springs; seven great-grandchildren, Victoria Ruth, Joel Wayne and Grace Lynn McElroy, all of Angleton, Texas, Abby and Jace Brownfield, both of Nixa and Mario Urdiales and Paula Aluiso, both of Freeport; numerous nephews and nieces; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017, at West Side Church of Christ with Mr. Dan Lightfoot officiating.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Clarksville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
