In Memoriam.

Susan I, wife of James H. Abbott, died at her home in Miltona on the 11th day of April 1883, aged 46 years. She was born in N.Y., and with her parents went to Vermont when she was 11 years old. She was married at the age of 19 to the husband who still survives her. During the (Civil) war, her husband was in the service from (18)62 to (18)64. At the close of the war, the family moved to Minnesota and settled at Owatonna and after a residence there of one year returned to Vermont, and remained there about four years, her husband being in the wood trade on the Central railroad. The family then moved back to Minnesota and located in Douglas county which continued to be her residence till death called her to a “Better Land.” Mrs. Abbott was an idolized child of fond parents, a faithful wife, a loving mother, a steadfast friend and a noble christian woman. Her four children are all living and tenderly cherish her memory.
