Thomas Harold James, age 73, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2005, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Born in Quitman, Arkansas, on March 9, 1931, he was the son of the late Samuel Vernie and Bonnie (Robinson) James. Mr. James was a carpenter and a lifetime resident of Quitman. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of Cleburne and White County Fox Hunters Club. His religious belief was Baptist. Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alvie James. Survivors include his wife, Margie A. (Hearst) James of Quitman; two sons, Nathan E. James and Jeffery S. James, both of Quitman; one daughter, Carla James Schaumleffel of Quitman; three brothers, Fred James of Greers Ferry, Joel James of Quitman, and Charles James of California; one sister, Jean Burkett of Searcy; and two grandchildren, Austin James and Ryan Schaumleffel. Mr. James is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 11, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Olmstead Chapel. Graveside services and interment will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, at 2:00 P.M. in the Pearson Cemetery with Dr. J. R. DeBusk and Rev. Terry Hill officiating. Pallbearers will be Norman Linn, Seldon Shaw, Pat Pike, Larry Goff, Doss Holland, and Joe Ivy. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Kaylor and Danny Townsend. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc., Heber Springs, AR 72543.
