Annette's passion was her family and her faith. Being a mother of ten children, she had a special gift for managing all the details and the indomitable spirit to see them through. Her skills in the kitchen were second to none and no one left the table wanting more. There were always pies, cookies and cakes, canned vegetables and fruit which filled the shelves and everything was not only homemade, but made from scratch. Annette also handmade one of a kind quilts for her family that will be passed on for generations to come. Though small in stature and with a distinctive voice, no one could match her strength of will when it came to speaking her mind and correcting the "wrongs' that she saw along her life's journey. Annette also loved to travel extensively to visit family as well as social trips with the senior citizen groups throughout the United States and abroad. Annette loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor that she shared with everyone she met. The footprints of her love and friendship can be found on many paths, but the most treasured will be the ones left on the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
She now leaves nine children, Marjorie Marshall of Kirkland, IL and children, Helen (Mike) Becker, Jim (Bonnie) and Mike (Carla) Marshall; Bernard (Joanne) Dorneden of Bloomington, IL - and children, Matt (Janice) and Brad; Jim (Margaret) Dorneden of Valdosta, Georgia and children, Suzie Holt and Doug; Gregory Dorneden of Montgomery, IL and children, Jason and Emily; Stephen (Sally) Dorneden of Egg Harbor, WI, and children, Angela (Scott) Frohwirth, Michele, Amanda (Travis) Keuttle, and Jacob; Joseph Dorneden of Sandwich, IL, and children, Frank and Jackie; Mark Dorneden of Sandwich, IL, and children, Linette and Roy; Jerry Dorneden of Tucson, AZ; Cecile (Dennis) Mutch of Galesburg, MI, and children, Kyle and Patrick Mutch; one brother, James (Mae) McQuaid of Hawaii; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews and a life time of friends.
She now joins her parents; her husband Ed, son Pat, grandson John Paul, sister Patricia Stoycheff and son-in-law Sylvester Marshall who preceded her in death.

After her husband Ed died, her son Patrick Francis Dorneden (15798271) saw to the well being and comfort of his mother. Patrick never married and following his service in the army, he built a beautiful home for his mother and himself in Elburn. After his death, Annette lived in their home, until the time came it was to much for her to care for. She then moved into an apartment in Elburn. When Patrick became aware of his terminal condition, he left the home as a bequest to his mother.
