Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Thelma ‘Tabby’ Louise Metcalf of Fancy Gap, VA, passed away on January 7, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Stevens and Lucille Arrington; husbands, Charles C. Thomas, Jr. and Olen R. Edwards; and sister, Phyllis Kendig. Tabby is survived by her husband, Richard ‘Mike’ Metcalf; daughters, Lisa (Rodney) Nearbin, Angie (Bryan) Cridlin, Kimberly (Jim) Beyer Jr.; son, Brian ‘Buzz’ Thomas; six grandchildren, David and Kristen Nearbin, Jacob and Aaron Cridlin, and Josh and Jaden Beyer; one great-grandson, Caynen Taylor; and brother, Norman (Shirley) Stevens.

Tabby retired as the Human Resource Manager from Electro-Tec and always spoke fondly of her co-workers whom she tried to stay in contact with. She had many family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Our family would like to thank all the nurses and staff of Commonwealth Assisted Living and Mountain Valley Hospice of Hillsville as well as Dr. Leslie E. Badillo.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery.
