Lee Nesbitt Gordy, 80, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Kathryn "Kitty" Godman Gordy entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 7, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 in Christ Church, 2304 Highway 17 North at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in the Christ Church Cemetery. Arrangements by J. Lee was born January 22, 1936 in Patterson, New Jersey, son of the late Lee Acworth Gordy and Marie Nesbitt Gordy. He was a graduate of The University of Maryland, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He served his country in the US Army Reserves, and retired from a career in pharmaceutical sales and management.
He was also a Mason and a member of the Omar Shrine Temple. Lee loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating with his grandson. He also loved to travel with his wife Kitty. He was a member of Christ Church, where he actively served as a greeter and usher, and was a volunteer with East Cooper Meals on Wheels.
Lee is survived by his wife of 53 years; his daughter, Kathryn G. Novakovic (Donny) of Hermosa Beach, CA; his sister, Susan G. Core of Richmond, VA; and grandson, Reis Kennet Novakovic. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Lee Gordy, and his step-mother Ellen Bloodsworth.
