Brownie Marie Driver, 88, of Harrisonburg, passed away on January 9, 2017 at the Sentara RMH Medical Center.

Miss Driver was born on March 9, 1928 in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late Rhodes Homer and Anna May (Weaver) Driver. She lived her entire life in a five mile radius of Harrisonburg. For the past 24 years she was a part of the VMRC Community.

Brownie worked for 38 years with the Rockingham Radiologists Group. In her retirement, she and her sister Gladys traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. She was an active member of Weavers Mennonite Church and the Mennonite Women’s Sewing Circle. She and Gladys enjoyed quilting and contributed numerous quilts to the Virginia Mennonite Relief Sale.

Miss Driver is survived by her sister, Gladys Ann Driver, a nephew and a number of nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold W. Driver, two sisters, Reba D. Heatwole, and Edith D. Branner, a nephew Bruce W. Driver, and a niece Nancy D. Kisamore.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday January 12, 2017 at 10 am at Weavers Cemetery with Pastor Phil Kanagy officiating. There will be no formal visitation, however friends may call the funeral home on Wednesday until 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VMRC, C/O The Compassion Fund, 1501 Virginia Ave., Harrisonburg, VA 22802.
