Jesse O. Brasher
Pallbearers for the funeral today of Jesse O. Brasher were Gus H. Ridings, Charles Miller, Fred W. Carlock, Buford Cargle, Charles W. Garber and John H. Gray.
Services were held this afternoon at Ford and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. E. D. Owen officiating. Military rites were by members of the World War I Veterans Barracks 1311. Interment was in Memorial Park.
Mr. Brasher, 73 years old, 1214 Broadway, died at 11:55 Tuesday morning in a hospital here. He was a retired farmer, and moved to Cape Girardeau in 1940 from Morley.
He was born May 15, 1895, at Golconda, Ill. Mr. Brasher was first married to the former Miss Viola Nanney on March 15, 1918, at Benton. She died Nov. 24, 1964. In 1965 he was married to Mrs. Rushia Haden Baty in St. Louis, who survives.
Mr. Brasher was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Good Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the West Side Senior Citizens Club. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the World War I Veterans Barracks 1311.
Besides his wife, Mr. Brasher is survived by two sons, Joe O. Brasher and Wm. O. Brasher: two daughters, Mrs. John R. Teichman and Mrs. James Allen, all of Cape Girardeau, and three grandchildren.
