Gilbert Wendell Leach, 85, Anna, Texas, formally of Colorado City passed away peacefully at the Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in McKinney on Sunday, January 8, 2017.
He was born on August 27, 1931 in Colorado City to Gilbert and Veda Morris Leach.
After finishing school Wendell married the love of his life, Miss Catherine Ann Dorn on November 11, 1951 in Colorado City. Wendell was a minister for the majority of his life, serving God and community for over 50 years and in 12 churches in the North West Texas Conference. He lived a very humble faith driven life always putting God and family above all else. He was a very passionate caring man who made sure to show his wife that he loved her every day. In his spare time Gilbert enjoyed fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Wendell is survived by his wife Cathi Leach of Anna, by a son Calvin Leach and wife Stacy of Ardmore Oklahoma, a daughter Wendy Posey and husband Tim of Trenton, Texas, and by a brother Kenneth Leach of Benbrook, Texas. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings.
A funeral service will be held for Wendell at the Dorn Chapel on Saturday January 14th at 1 pm with burial to follow in the Dorn Cemetery.
The family will be present for a visitation from 11 am until the time of the service at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
