Voisey is the son of John E. Northcott & Ada Ann Hendy. He was born in Benton Harbor in 1899.
He served in the US Army during World War 1. He was stationed at Selfridge Air Station in the 830th Army Aero Squadon.

He married Edythe Rayer in Detroit in 1922. In 1933 he married Julia W. Dean in Lucas County, Ohio. Voisey died in 1950 and is buried in a single grave in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit. He has a military headstone on his grave.
