Mr. Eldred Lee “Pete” Hodges, 97, longtime Bartlesville resident, died at 6:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the Bartlesville Health and Rehab facility.

Mr. Hodges was born on February 4, 1919 at Oskaloosa, Kansas the son of Thomas Lee Hodges and Retta (North) Hodges. He grew up and received his education at Oskaloosa until coming to Bartlesville with his family as a young man. He was married to Lela Maxine Coldren on September 2, 1939 in Bartlesville. Mr. and Mrs. Hodges made their home at various locations in the 1940’s until returning to Bartlesville. In 1949 they established Pete Hodges Electric which they owned and operated until their retirement in 1991 and the company is still owned and operated by their son Tom Hodges. Mrs. Hodges preceded him in death on October 14, 1995. Mr. Hodges continued his home in Bartlesville. He was later married to Daisy Pointer and they later divorced. Mr. Hodges was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint, enjoyed going to the lake, restoring old cars and hot rods and raising livestock. In recent years, Mr. Hodges had been a resident of Tallgrass Estates where he enjoyed living and interacting with the other residents and the management. The Hodges family also wishes to express the care Mr. Hodges received while a resident of the Bartlesville Health and Rehab facility.

Mr. Hodges is survived by two sons, David Hodges and Tom Hodges both of Bartlesville, one daughter, Coleen Alspach and husband Terry, two sisters, Velma DePlois of Bartlesville and Donna Garrett of Topeka, Kansas, five grandchildren, Corbin Anderson, Shannon Hayes, Lela Patton, Tyson Hodges and Amanda Hodges, five great grandchildren, Luke Hayes, Will Patton, Jet Patton, Anabella Patton and Amarha Barnes and a host of nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Maxine Silversmith and Virginia Martin.

Funeral services for Mr. Hodges will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Jsue Wagner of Comforting Hands Hospice officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home. Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home until 1:30 P.M. on Thursday as the casket will remain closed at the services.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to the American Cancer Society, 4110 South 100th East Ave, Suite 101, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74146.
