I called the admin person for Thorp Cemetery. She has no record of this burial. However, I looked up the WA state death certificate and it clearly states that he was buried at the Thorp Cemetery on 9/14/57. She has records of both his parents and probably a brother being buried there.
Here is a summary of our discussion about this: The informant on the death cert is Kittitas Co. Welfare. He was living at the Vale Hotel where he passed away. He was 90 and an agricultural laborer. With his family already deceased, and no one to bury him, he was probably cremated and buried with his mother. There is probably no stone indicating he is there.
Suggested:
According to the WA death certificate, James passed away at the Vale Hotel, in Ellensburg, where he was living. He was an agricultural laborer. It states he was buried at the Thorp cemetery on 9/14/57.
Thorp cemetery has no record of his burial. Both his parents, Jacob and Bertha, and his brother George are buried there. As the family was already deceased, it is probable that James was cremated and buried with his mother or brother. None of the gravemarkers indicate his name. Thorp cemetery has made a note in their records. Debbie Sonntag, Ellensburg, WA
