Mrs. Gertrude M. Amsley 83 of 7346 Mentzer Gap Road, Waynesboro, widow of John W. Amsley, died at 2:35 P.M. Friday, April 21, 1989, in the Waynesboro Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past three weeks and had been critically ill since being admitted to the hospital April 14.

Born July 28, 1905 at Fairview, Franklin County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Calvin and Emma (Rock) Tarman. She lived all her life in Quincy Township.

She and her husband were married in May 1930 and moved to the present residence in 1952. He died in March 1965.

As a young women she was employed seasonally by local orchards.

Mrs. Amsley was a Protestant.

She was the last of her immediate family and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
