James Alexander "Fat Boy Jimbo" Flowers, age 55 of Springfield, IL died at Memorial Medical Center at 4:55 pm Sunday, October 31, 2010. He was born on February 14, 1955 in Springfield, IL the son of Clinton Bud and Marjorie Steinhouser Flowers.

He married Carolyn Sue Funderburk on February 16, 1973. He was preceded in death by his mother, a sister, Sharon K. Hoover and a brother-in-law; John Hoover.

A Springfield resident all of his life, Mr. Flowers previously worked at Pleasant Nursery as a landscaper. He was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed Holidays, including scaring his kids during Halloween. He also was an avid BINGO player. He formerly served on the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department for over 10 years. He also was a hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife; Sue Flowers of Springfield, 2 great nieces; Haley Rolland and Shelby Hoover, both of Springfield, father; Clinton Bud Flowers of Salem, MO, 2 sisters; Becky and Erica Flowers, both of Salem, MO, 6 brothers; Clinton Buddy Flowers of Springfield, Buddy Lee (Missy) Flowers, Russell Flowers, Scott Flowers, Steve Flowers and Dereck (Dawn) Flowers all of Salem, MO and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be hosting a memorial gathering from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Elliott Avenue Baptist Church.
