Earl H. Abbott, Jr., 79, of Alloway Twp. died on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at his home under the care of hospice following an extended illness.

Born in Bridgeton to the late Earl H. Abbott, Sr. and Mary Craig Abbott, he was the husband of Marion Swing Abbott. Earl had been a Bridgeton area resident most of his life.

Prior to his retirement, he had been a self employed carpenter for over 40 years. He had been previously employed at Price Label and Owens Illinois Glass Co. both in Bridgeton. In his free time, Earl enjoyed bottle hunting, auctions, fossil hunting and vegetable gardening. In his younger years, he had been an avid hunter.

He is survived by his wife, Marion of Alloway Twp.; three daughters, Julie Abbott-Baitinger and her husband, Ian of Hopewell Twp, Karen Abbott of Alloway Twp. and Christi Abbott of Woodstown; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Abbott Bell and his step-mother, Katherine Paulding-Abbott.

Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, December 13th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
