Benjamin F. Tarman 79, of 35 W. Main Street died at 2:50 P.M. Friday, February 13, 1970, at his home. He had been in failing health for four years and was confined to his home for the past five months. Mr. Tarman was born in Quincy Township, Dec 31, 1891. His early life was lived on the Tarman homestead in Quincy Township. Mr. Tarman served with the AE in France during World War 1 and following his discharge he was employed as a painter by the Emerson-Brantingham Co., and later at Frick Company.
All of his life he had been an avid sportsman and hunter.
Mr. Tarman had been retired since 1959 and he and Mrs. Tarman had lived at the present residence for the past 15 years. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Sabillisville. He was also a member of the Joe Stickell Post, American Legion. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Ruth M. Snyder Tarman, he is survived by a number of cousins. Private funeral services will be held Monday at 3:30 P.M. in the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the
Rev. Claude H. Corl. Entombment will be made in the family mausoleum at Quincy Cemetery. It was Mr. Tarman's request that there be no viewing.
