Frances L. Yingst, 63, of 611 Clayton Avenue, widow of Chester C. Yingst, died at 3:30 AM at the Waynesboro Hospital. She had been in failing health since February and critically ill since being admitted to the hospital on Sunday. She was born in Waynesboro on April 6, 1918 in Waynesboro. Daughter of Margaret Grace (Snyder) and Alson S. Little, Sr. She lived all her life in Waynesboro and was a graduate of the Waynesboro High School Class of 1936. She and her husband were married in Hagerstown on February 1, 1942, by Rev. George A. Brown. They moved to their present residence in 1946. As a young woman she was employed by Landis Machine and Magnus Metals. She later assisted her husband in
operating Yingst Tavern. Prior to retiring in 1975, she was a secretary at the Waynesboro Area Senior High School for 17 years, as the attendance clerk. . Also served as secretary to Jury Commissioners of Franklin County, and Judge of Elections. Her husband died April 16, 1980. Mrs. Yingst was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Mount Vernon Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and the Waynesboro Chapter of AARP. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter Sally M. Yingst, at home, and two brothers, Robert S. Little, Chambersburg and Jack V. Little, Waynesboro. She was predeceased by her brother Lt. Alson S. Little, Jr. "Bubby" in WWII in 1844. The funeral will be held Friday at ww:00 am at Grove Funeral Home. Rev. Howard Smith will be conduction the service. Burial will be in Quincy Cemetery. It was her request that there will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Waynesboro Little League, in care of Brian Shook, 27 Price Avenue, Waynesboro.
