Marge was a Vaudeville actress and singer on the Orpheum Circuit as a young woman. Her stage name was Birdie. She married a musician, Clarke Louis Wilson, on May 8, 1911, in Stockton, California. Both were residents of San Francisco at the time, according to their marriage license (notice also published in SF Call). They divorced sometime before 1920, when Clarke was enumerated in the census, marital status divorced, living with his parents in San Francisco.
Sometime before 1935 Marge married (unknown) surname Connell, evidenced on her marriage certificate to third husband Albert E. Fairfield, which indicated her marital status was widowed.
Marge married Albert E. Fairfield on November 24, 1935, at Most Holy Redeemer Church in San Francisco. Marriage license noted her parents were Edward J. Murphy, born London, England, and Margaret Elizabeth Connors, born Toronto, Ontario.
From census records, it is possible Marge's mother, Margaret (Connors) Murphy, also remarried. Margaret's second husband may have been William Stanislaus Healey. They had a son, Stanley Healey, b. circa 1908. William's sister, Lillian G. Healey, was a witness at Marge's second marriage (below).
Albert and Margie Fairfield lived in Stockton the rest of their lives. Margie was an avid Catholic, which explains the location of her burial.
Margie's obituary indicated she was a native of San Francisco. She was survived by "cousin" Stanley Healey (who may have actually been a half-brother).
