Matthew G. Gazdich, age 38, of Christy Park died January 12, 2017 at home. Born June 6, 1978 in McKeesport, he was the son of George P. Gazdich and Dagmar (Hansen) Oglesby. Matthew worked at the CCAC South Campus as a computer lab technician and taught Java programming. He attended Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church. He loved his animals, Cujo, Mouseface, Sadie, and Cocoa. He enjoyed writing, trail bicycling, and his "pen collection."

In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his sisters, Kari Gazdich of White Oak, Laura (Shawn Mimnaugh) Gazdich of North Versailles, Alexandra (Taylor) Abbott of Duffy, Ohio and Roxanne Oglesby of 84, PA; also many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, George (Viola) Gazdich and Christ (Ethel) Hansen.

Family and friends will be received at the Willig Funeral Home and Crematory on Monday January 16, 2017, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held on Tuesday January 17, 2017 at 10am, in the funeral home chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30am at Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church. Father Bruce Sleczkowski and Father Mark Swoger, will officiate. Inurnment will be at Saints Cyril and Methodius Slovak National Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Western PA Humane Society, 1101 Western ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
