Harold Miller Dickinson Sr., 84, of Moultrie, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Baker Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Born April 30, 1928, in Reading, Pa., he was the son of the late Herbert and Mabel Dickinson.

If he wasn't passing along his passion for flying, his family said, he was pushing his enthusiasm for the latest product that captured his interest (Amway, Mix-I-Go or Juice Plus). He seemed to live a full life; not only flying, but also singing, yodeling and playing guitar. As a young man he formed his own band, Harold Dickinson and the Drifting Range Riders.

As he began his family life, he worked for Westinghouse in Bath, N.Y., for nine years, attaining the title of "Master Pipefitter." In 1973, he packed up the family and moved from Bath, N.Y., to Moultrie, to continue his aviation career with Maule Aircraft. He later formed his own company, Combinaire, and continued rebuilding and repairing general aviation aircraft until his death.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Earhart.

Survivors include his "co-pilot" of 44 years, Julia C. Dickinson of Moultrie; his "air and ground crew" stationed throughout the United States and Germany, Harold Dickinson Jr. and wife Swanie, June Cuda and husband Joseph, Teresa Scouten and husband Kevin, Margie Hill, Julie Sherrod and husband Clarence, Heidi Cowan and husband Daniel, Karen Hiers and husband Brendan, Michael Dickinson and Mark Dickinson; "additional crew" of Susan Norman and husband Russ, Duane Knauff, Steven Knauff, Amy Richter and husband Sonny and Melinda Wright and husband David; his "extended crew" includes 12 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one nephew; and several cousins.
