Alice Joan Rice, 80, of Manchester, NH, died January 14, 2017, surrounding by her loving family, after a period of declining health.

Born in Cohoes, NY on August 13, 1936, she was the daughter of Eugene and Alice (Perry) Vanier. Alice resided in North Petersburg, NY for many years. She moved to the Queen City in 2013.

Alice spent most of her life as a dedicated homemaker. In addition, she was employed with Stanley Tools for several years.

Alice will be remembered for her kind and selfless ways. She enjoyed arts and crafts. In her early years, she was active with the Boy Scouts as well as the Girls Scouts.
She was married to James O’Neill who died in 1972, and William Rice who died in 2011. She was also predeceased by a son, Richard O’Neill.

Family members include her seven children, Catherine MacDonald, John O’Neill, Susan O’Neill, Joan Mahuron, James O’Neill, Alicia Bowen, and Michael Bowen; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Services: Calling hours will be held Thursday from 9 to 11 AM in Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH.

Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester, NH.
