After divorcing her first husband she singlehandedly worked full time, bought a home, was active in her church and community, and raised three boys who became fine men.
In her fifties she married the love of her life, Andy Martin. She so deserved this happiness! Her marriage to Andy was, I'm sure, the best years of her life. That, and being Mom to her three boys.
June Emma Martin, 89, of Sheboygan, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at her home of natural causes.
June was born June 11, 1927, in Benson, Minnesota, to the late Bert Ingvald and Emma (Knoblauch) Samsal. She attended Sheboygan Falls Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1945. She was also a graduate of Sheboygan County Teacher's College in 1947.
She was married to Edward Vreeke and had three sons. They later divorced.
On June 20, 1981, she married Andrew Martin at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1996.
June was employed by the Kohler Company for 24 years, where she worked as an order correspondent. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and the Lakeshore Chorale.
Survivors include her three sons, Steven (Margaret) Vreeke, Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, Scott Vreeke, Sheboygan, Wisconsin and Stuart Vreeke, Sheboygan, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Toepel of Kohler, Wisconsin, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Samsal, Wesley Samsal and Virgil Samsal and two sisters, Joyce Massey and Viola Nash Brewer.
A funeral service for June was held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center (1201 N. 8th Street, Sheboygan) with the Rev. Cindy Thompson officiating. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
