Harold Edward Yeager 78, died Wednesday (Jan. 17, 2007) at his home in McCook.

He was born April 1, 1929, in Culbertson to Henry and Anna Marie (Hein) Yeager. He attended school in Culbertson.

On May 14, 1950, he married Norma Jean Wolgamott. They made their home in McCook where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Nebraska Department of Roads, McCook Division. He retired in 1990 after 36 years of service.

He was a member of the McCook Eagle's Club.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry and Anna Yeager; his wife, Norma on November 30, 1993; three brothers, Harry, Henry and George in infancy; and four sisters, Esther Zwickle, Mabel Herrmann, Marie Brenning and Alma Dack.

Survivors include his children, Georgia Kelly, Cindy Banos of McCook, Wesley Yeager and wife, Paula of McCook; Lesley Yeager and wife, Nancy of Kearney, Mo., and Kenneth Yeager of McCook; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nephews, nieces and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Chapel with the Rev. Clark Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in his name to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be today until 8 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m., until noon. Friends may go online at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend condolences.
