Daughter of Margaret Paton & Robert Beith. She first appears in records in the 1841 Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland census (as Eliza #1 1831). She immigrated with her family to the US aboard the ship Wilhelmine, arriving in NYC in July of 1844 (see photo, name as Isabella 1831).

The family settled in Saint Charles, IL, a young but quickly growing town, where her brother William had established himself the previous year as a stone mason/builder, a profession shared by her father. She met Andrew J Weisel of Bavaria who also worked as a stone mason & the couple married on February 25th, 1851, Kane Co., IL.

The couple lived in Saint Charles, IL where they had five children: Ella, twins George Robert & Margaret A, Jennie & Charles (who died young).

She & her husband & three of their children are buried here next to her parents & near several of her siblings.

2). (twin) George Robert (4 Sept 1856 St Charles, IL- 12 Oct 1944 Elgin, IL, #110897158) George was a machinist by trade. He never married.
3). (twin) Margaret A (Alexander D) Sill (4 Sept 1856 St Charles, IL- 14 Jan 1922 Elgin, IL, #110897020) m. January 1st, 1880, Kane Co., IL. The couple had four children together: Edna M, George Andrew, Isabel & Genevieve (died young). Her husband, Alexander D Sill, who worked in an Elgin watch factory, was born in New York c. 1858 & died sometime between 1900-1910 (no marker, as yet found in Elgin's Bluff City Cemetery). After her husband's death she & her children lived with her brother George.
