From Crawford County (MI) Avalanche 22 March 1962
Clarence J. Gabriel, 51 succumbed at Mercy Hospital in Grayling on Friday, March 17th, following a stroke. He was taken by ambulance from his home in Frederic to the hospital, where he passed away after an illness of only nine hours.
Mr. Gabriel was born January 5, 1911 at Port Huron, Michigan. His home for the past 31 years was in Frederic.
He was a machine operator at the Frederic Souvenir Works. Married in 1930 in Gaylord, he came to Crawford County from that city, he is survived by his wife Violet, four sons, Robert of Flint, Eugene and Charles of Frederic and Jerry at home, and a daughter Joyce, at home and two sisters Margaret Tobey and Iole Thayer, both of Indianapolis, Ind.
Funeral services were held a 2 o' clock on Monday March 19th from the Sorenson Funeral Home with the Rev. Alvin Jobnson officating. Music was by Mrs. June Faldhauser. Burial was in the Elmwood mausoleum, with James Madill, Eugene Harmer, Eugene, Kaiser, David Bear?s, Albert Madill and Raymond Brown, serving as pallbearers.
